Evictore 1.
Report by the Surveyor General.
To : Colonial Secretary,
After one of the storms of the season, C. O. 23243 103 of the Rector rain " just closed, I had the honour to accompany His Excellency the Administrator on an inspection of the damages done by the floods, and amongst other places examined was the lofty cliff upon which stand the Government Hospital buildings and where a very serious landslip had taken place. I then pointed out that before the next rainy season it would be requisite to protect the buildings and road beyond the risk of danger from further landslips by building a granite retaining wall.
Unless this recommendation be acted upon this winter I am still of opinion that an accident may occur during next rainy season.
